The Wind Advisory is now in effect until midnight EST tonight.

Sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph... with gusts as high as 40 mph...
will continue through this evening across the Piedmont of North
Carolina... and the eastern South Carolina Piedmont. These gusty
winds... combined with saturated soil from the recent heavy rain...
will continue to cause trees to become uprooted across the
advisory area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This Wind Advisory has been issued because gusty winds are
expected to cause quite a few trees to fall due to saturated
soil. This may result in scattered power outages.

A record rainfall of 2.10 inches fell at the Greenville-Spartanburg
Airport on Wednesday. This breaks the old record of 1.78 inches set
in 1919 on November 11.

The following rainfall totals are calculated from midnight Tuesday
to 10 am Thursday. In addition to the rainfall... gusty winds
combined with saturated soils to result in numerous trees down
across the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia. Power outages
were reported in many areas due to the downed trees.
