Scattered showers...and even a few thunderstorms will progress northward through southern South Carolina and southeast Georgia early this morning. Some of the rain will be heavy at times...resulting in localized flooding of secondary roads and in poor drainage locations. In addition...wind gusts to 30 mph with also occur with some of the heavier showers and thunderstorms. A few communities that will receive rain through 6 am include...Charleston...Moncks Corner...Bonneau...Isle of Palms...Allendale and Estill in South Carolina...and Saint Catherines Island...Richmond Hill...Pembroke...Statesboro...Sylvania and Glennville in Georgia. Rainfall amounts will reach as much as 1/2 to 1 inch of rain in 60 minutes or less...thus the potential for some nuisance flooding concerns.
