Statement as of 5:53 AM EST on November 12, 2009 The Flood Warning continues for the Broad River at Blair. * Until Saturday evening... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 5 am this morning the stage was 19.6 feet. * Flood stage is 19 feet. * Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * Forecast... the river will crest near 22.1 feet by this evening. The river will fall below flood stage Friday. 553 am EST Thu Nov 12 2009 The Flood Warning extended for the Enoree river at Whitmire. * Until Friday evening... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 5 am Thursday the stage was 24.2 feet. * Flood stage is 25 feet. * Minor flooding is forecast. * Forecast... the river will crest around 25.4 feet this afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage tonight. * At 25.0 feet... river bottomland near and downstream from Whitmire become flooded. 553 am EST Thu Nov 12 2009 The Flood Warning extended for the Saluda River at Chappells. * Until Friday morning... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 5 am this morning the stage was near crest at 14.6 feet. * Flood stage is 14 feet. * Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * Forecast... the river will fall below flood stage today. |

Statement as of 3:27 AM EST on November 12, 2009 ... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM EST this evening... A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM EST this evening. Winds today on area lakes will be north 20 to 25 knots with gusts near 30 knots. Winds tonight will be north 15 to 25 knots diminishing to 10 to 20 knots late. Strong low pressure near the North Carolina coast is responsible for the winds. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats and personal watercraft will be especially prone to capsizing. |
