The river will fall below flood stage tonight. * At 25.0 feet... river bottomland near and downstream from Whitmire become flooded.

A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM EST this evening.
Winds today on area lakes will be north 20 to 25 knots with gusts near 30 knots. Winds tonight will be north 15 to 25 knots diminishing to 10 to 20 knots late.
Strong low pressure near the North Carolina coast is responsible for the winds.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats and personal watercraft will be especially prone to capsizing.
