* at 726 am EST showers with heavy rain were beginning to move
across portions of Georgetown and Williamsburg County. These
showers were producing rainfall rates of one to two inches an
hour. This rain is falling on saturated ground where upwards of
two inches has already fallen since Tuesday.

The Flood Watch continues for
* a portion of northeast South Carolina... including the following
areas... Darlington... Dillon... Florence...
Georgetown... Horry... Marion... Marlboro and Williamsburg.
* Through late Thursday night
* the remnants of Hurricane Ida will bring heavy rainfall to the
area today and Thursday. The heaviest rain is expected to occur
today. 4 to 6 inches of rain is expected through
Thursday... with locally higher amounts possible.
Rainfall rates will generally be moderate to occasionally heavy
but the prolonged nature of the rain will lead to potential
flooding. The widespread nature of the rain may lead to river
flooding later in the week. Some of the major rivers may
experience minor flooding Friday into the weekend.
