* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.

* Forecast... the river will rise above flood stage late this
afternoon and crest around 26.8 feet tomorrow early afternoon.
The river will fall below flood stage by Friday.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 26.8 feet
on Sep 30 2004.

the Saluda River at Chappells.
* Until Friday morning... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 11 am Wednesday the stage was 13.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will rise above flood stage this afternoon and
crest around 15.2 feet this evening. The river will fall below
flood stage Thursday.
* At 16.0 feet... extensive farmland and river bottomland around and
downstream from Chappells become flooded.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 15.3 feet
on Dec 30 1926.
