Through 10 am...moderate to heavy rain will continue to move across southeast South Carolina and southeast Georgia this morning. Heavy rain with rainfall rates of 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch in a hours time will produce poor visibilities and standing water on roadways. Some isolated locations along and west of Interstate 95 will receive up to 1 inch of rain due to heavy downpours.

The Flood Warning continues for the lower Santee river near Jamestown. * At 7 PM Thursday the stage was 15.2 feet. * Flood stage is 10.0 feet. * Moderate flooding is occurring. * Forecast... the river will remain nearly steady then begin to fall slowly by Saturday. * At 14.2 feet... extensive flooding of swamplands may be expected. Logging operations and cattle grazing should be moved to higher ground. River is approximately 9000 feet wide.

Along the South Carolina coast... strong onshore winds will continue to produce hazardous waves of 4 to 6 feet within the surf zone today. The rough surf will also produce minor beach erosion. The largest waves will likely occur around high tide early this afternoon. Then... winds will shift to the west this evening... and these offshore winds will push the highest waves away from the surf zone.

East to southeast winds of 25 to 35 mph will continue along the coastal areas of Charleston and Colleton counties through late this morning. The highest winds will be found east of Highway 17 and may make travel difficult at times. Elevated wind gusts as high as 40 mph will be possible.
Stronger winds will be felt on some of the taller bridges. This includes... the Ravenel bridge... the Don Holt bridge... the Ben Sawyer bridge and the Isle of Palms connector
