Statement as of 3:50 AM EST on December 18, 2009 ... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 7 am this morning to midnight EST tonight... The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a lake Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 7 am this morning to midnight EST tonight. Low pressure will move from the northeast Gulf of Mexico to the coast of the Carolinas today. East to northeast winds will steadily increase through the day... with sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph likely through this evening... and occasional gusts to 35 mph. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing. |
