the Congaree River at Carolina Eastman.
* Until Monday evening... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7 am Thursday the stage was 119.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 115.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 121.3 feet by
tomorrow early afternoon. The river will fall below flood
stage Sunday.

The Flood Warning extended for
the Congaree River at Sandy Run.
* From this afternoon to late Sunday night... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 8 am Thursday the stage was 22.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will rise above flood stage late this
afternoon and crest around 24.1 feet tomorrow evening.
The river will fall below flood stage Sunday.
* At 24.0 feet... several homes in the Sandy Run subdivision along the
river become flooded.

The Flood Advisory continues for
the Congaree River at Columbia.
* Until Friday morning.
* At 11 am Thursday the stage was 13.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will rise to crest at 17.8 feet tomorrow
morning.
* Advisory stage is 10.0 feet.
* At 19.0 feet... extensive swampland and large areas of farmland and
pasture land downstream from Columbia become flooded.

... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM EST this
evening...

A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM EST this evening.

Winds today on area lakes will be north 20 to 25 knots with gusts
near 30 knots. Winds tonight will be north 15 to 25 knots
diminishing to 10 to 20 knots late.

Strong low pressure near the North Carolina coast is responsible
for the winds.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats and personal watercraft will be
especially prone to capsizing.
