Lake Wind Advisory
Statement as of 3:20 PM EST on November 10, 2009
... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 11 am Wednesday to 11 PM EST
Thursday for Lake Moultrie...
The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a lake Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 11 am Wednesday to 11 PM EST
Thursday.
A Gulf low pressure system will move across northern Florida on
Wednesday... then up the southeast United States coast Wednesday
night through Thursday night. Meanwhile... high pressure will build
in from the west... producing strong winds on Lake Moultrie from
Wednesday afternoon through Thursday evening. North winds around
20 knots with waves of 1 to 2 feet can be expected during this
time. Conditions will improve by late Thursday night.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Mariners should use extra caution on Lake Moultrie... especially
on the Open Lake waters. Strong winds may lead to large waves
which can capsize boats.
