Statement as of 12:17 PM EST on November 11, 2009 The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a * Flood Advisory for the Pee Dee River at Cheraw. * Until Friday afternoon. * At 11 am Wednesday the stage was 9.8 feet. * Flood stage is 30.0 feet. * Forecast... the river will rise to crest at 29.8 feet Friday morning. * Advisory stage is 20.0 feet. * At 30.0 feet... the higher bank begins to flood. Large areas of farmland and river bottomland near Cheraw will be flooded.

Statement as of 11:14 AM EST on November 11, 2009 ... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM EST Thursday... A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM EST Thursday. Low pressure near the coast will bring northeast to north winds of 15 to 25 knots... along with higher gusts through Thursday. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats and personal watercraft will be especially prone to capsizing.
