Flood Warning
Statement as of 9:53 AM EST on February 09, 2010
The Flood Warning continues for
the lower Santee river near Jamestown.
* At 8 am Tuesday the stage was 17.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 18.2 feet by
Thursday evening. Additional rises may be possible thereafter.
* At 14.2 feet... extensive flooding of swamplands may be expected.
Logging operations and cattle grazing should be moved to higher
ground. River is approximately 9000 feet wide.
