Friday... high temperatures around 100 degrees across much of the area away from the coast will combine with moderate levels of humidity to produce heat indices near 115 degrees. Thus... an excessive heat watch has been issued.
The risk for heat related illnesses will be especially high due to the long duration of this ongoing heat wave. Necessary precautions should be taken.

The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity may lead to a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
