Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday, November 28, 2009. Several low pressure systems will affect mainly coastal areas on Saturday.

First, a departing storm will move out of the Northeast and into the Canadian Maritimes while producing diminishing snow and areas of freezing rain in New England. Various Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for northern New England, but most of these advisories are set to expire by late in the morning. The secondary effect of this storm will be that it will produce strong winds through much of the day even after the storm leaves the area. Various Wind Warnings are in effect for coastal areas south to Delaware.

Second, a low pressure system that brought rain and snow to the central portion of California on Friday will continue gliding southeastward into the southern half of the state on Saturday. This will translate to rain and high elevation snow in California, along with additional precipitation in the Southwest. The snow in California will fall in high traffic areas, making holiday travel difficult.

Third, a Pacific front will just graze western Washington, instigating another round of rain and high elevation snow in the northern Cascades. This precipitation will be limited to Washington.

Elsewhere, a large high pressure system will keep dry conditions dominant in the Southeast, producing some areas of freezing temperatures along the Southeast Coast, and dangerous fire weather in Florida.

The Northeast will rise into the 30s and 40s, while the Southeast will see temperatures in the 60s and 70s. The Southern Plains will rise into the 60s and 70s, while the Southwest will see temperatures in the 40s, 50s, and 60s.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Friday ranged from a low of 1 degrees at Gunnison County, Colo. to a high of 83 degrees at East Mesa, Ariz.
