Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are affecting these sections of Puerto Rico. At 215 PM AST...the heaviest rainfall was occurring over the municipality of Ponce and Juana Diaz...where Doppler radar estimated near one inch per hour over isolated areas. Some of these showers and thunderstorms will affect the portugues dam site inducing small rises across portugues river this afternoon. At least through 530 PM AST...periods of moderate to heavy rain...brief gusty winds and some minor low lying flooding and ponding of water on roadways will accompany these showers as they pass by.

* at 320 PM AST Doppler radar indicated scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms with very heavy rain and gusty winds across these areas... especially over the municipalities of Ponce... Juana Diaz... and Yauco. Also... some of these showers and thunderstorms will affect the portugues dam site... as well people along Rio inabon... inducing small rises across portugues and inabon rivers with this activity. Within the past hour... estimated rainfall amounts over some locations across the affected area ranged from 1 to 2 inches. At least through 615 PM AST... additional showers will develop over waters and move through these areas producing one or more inches of precipitation.
Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.
