Winter Storm Watch | |

Statement as of 3:55 AM EST on December 18, 2009 ... Winter Storm Watch in effect from late tonight through Sunday morning... The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Winter Storm Watch... which is in effect from late tonight through Sunday morning. A storm developing along the Gulf Coast early Friday... will move to the mid Atlantic coast early Saturday... before moving out over the New England coastal waters Sunday. As a result we expect snow to spread northward later tonight and early Saturday. The snow could fall heavy at times Saturday into Saturday night... especially over southeastern parts of the forecast area which will be closest to the expected path of the storm.. The potential exists for a dry-fluffy snowfall of about 4 to 8 inches over the area from Clearfield... Johnstown... Altoona and State College east to Williamsport and Bloomsburg. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or your favorite source of weather information for the latest updates. Additional details can also be found at... weather.Gov/statecollege. |
