Statement as of 9:06 PM EDT on July 11, 2009 The National Weather Service in State College PA has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... northern Lancaster County in south central Pennsylvania... Lebanon County in south central Pennsylvania... Dauphin County in south central Pennsylvania... east central Perry County in south central Pennsylvania... * until 1000 PM EDT * at 903 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing penny size hail... and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. These storms were located along a line extending from 6 miles northwest of fort Indiantown Gap to Linglestown to Duncannon... and moving southeast at 40 mph. * Severe thunderstorms will be near... Lickdale and Rockville around 915 PM EDT... Fredericksburg and progress around 920 PM EDT... Steelton and Rutherford Heights around 925 PM EDT... Hummelstown and Highspire around 930 PM EDT... Middletown and Richland around 935 PM EDT... Newmanstown and lawn around 940 PM EDT... This will impact the following central Pennsylvania interstates... the Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 247 and 289... I-78 between mile markers 0 and 8... I-81 between mile markers 66 and 95... I-83 between mile markers 43 and 50... I-283. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this line of severe thunderstorms. Move indoors immediately!
