The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of northeast Pennsylvania... including the following counties... Lackawanna... Luzerne... southern Wayne and Wyoming.
* Until 2 am EDT Sunday.
* Showers and thunderstorms moved through the area earlier today dropping up to an inch of rain. A large area of showers and thunderstorms in central Pennsylvania will move through the area this evening. Isolated areas could get 2 to 4 inches of rain in 2 hours or less. This potential rainfall will cause flash flooding of urban areas... and small streams and creeks.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued. Do not cross flooded roads... especially at night. It is hard to tell how deep the water is or if the Road is washed out.

These storms were located along a line extending from Pleasant Mount to Carbondale to Archbald to Elmhurst to Bear Creek to 6 miles south of Bear Creek to Hazleton... and moving east at 20 mph.
* Strong thunderstorms will be near... Pleasant Mount and Vandling at 940 PM EDT... Simpson and Yostville at 945 PM EDT... Quicktown and Fells Corners at 950 PM EDT... Waymart and South Canaan at 955 PM EDT... Tresslarville and Lehigh at 1000 PM EDT... Sterling and Prompton at 1005 PM EDT... Rileyville and Bethany at 1010 PM EDT... Rutledgedale and Seelyville at 1015 PM EDT...
