Statement as of 9:05 PM EDT on July 11, 2009 The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued an * urban and small stream flood advisory for flooding of poor drainage areas in... northern Lehigh County in eastern Pennsylvania... Northampton County in eastern Pennsylvania... this includes the city of Easton... Carbon County in northeast Pennsylvania... this includes the city of Lehighton... Monroe County in northeast Pennsylvania... this includes the city of Mount Pocono... * until 100 am EDT * at 900 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain moving in from the west. Rainfall amounts of one and a half to two and a half inches are possible in a short amount of time in parts of the Lehigh Valley and in the Pocono region. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Never drive your vehicle into an area where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. Lat...
