The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of northeast Pennsylvania... including the following counties... Lackawanna... Luzerne... southern Wayne and Wyoming.
* Until 2 am EDT Sunday.
* Showers and thunderstorms moved through the area earlier today dropping up to an inch of rain. A large area of showers and thunderstorms in central Pennsylvania will move through the area this evening. Isolated areas could get 2 to 4 inches of rain in 2 hours or less. This potential rainfall will cause flash flooding of urban areas... and small streams and creeks.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued. Do not cross flooded roads... especially at night. It is hard to tell how deep the water is or if the Road is washed out.

* at 843 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a cluster of strong thunderstorms capable of producing small hail... and very heavy rain. These storms were located along a line extending from 6 miles northwest of Sweet Valley to Shickshinny to Rock Glen... and moving east at 30 mph.
* Strong thunderstorms will be near... Weston and Sweet Valley at 850 PM EDT... Slocum and Pikes Creek at 855 PM EDT... Stull and Kasson Brook at 900 PM EDT... Harveys Lake and Ruggles at 905 PM EDT... Beaumont and Evans Falls at 910 PM EDT... Vernon and Woodside-Drifton at 915 PM EDT... Orange and Center Moreland at 920 PM EDT... falls and Wyoming at 925 PM EDT...
These storms have the potential to become severe and produce large hail and/or damaging winds.
