* at 628 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing nickel size hail... and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located 9 miles west of Mainville... or near Danville... and moving east southeast at 15 mph.
* The severe thunderstorm will be near... Mainville and Numidia around 700 PM EDT... Mifflinville around 710 PM EDT... Shumans around 720 PM EDT... Scotch Valley and Girardville around 730 PM EDT... nuremburg and Frackville around 740 PM EDT... Shenandoah around 745 PM EDT...
This will impact the following central Pennsylvania interstates... I-80 between mile markers 241 and 247... I-81 between mile markers 122 and 139.
This will also impact the following major roads... Route 11... Route 209... State Road 61... State Road 309.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
For your protection... move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business. This severe thunderstorm has the potential to cause serious injury and significant damage to property.
Doppler radar continues to indicate rotation within this storm. While not immediately likely... a tornado may still develop. If a tornado is spotted... act quickly and move to a place of safety in a sturdy structure... such as a basement or small interior room.
Report severe weather to the nearest law enforcement agency. They can relay the reports to the National Weather Service in State College.
