	Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 2:35 PM EDT on July 11, 2009 The National Weather Service in State College PA has issued an * urban and small stream flood advisory for... eastern McKean County... northwestern Tioga County... northern Cameron County... Potter County... northern Elk County... * until 530 PM EDT... * at 232 PM EDT Doppler radar indicated heavy rain was falling due to an extensive line of thunderstorms. Doppler radar estimates that up to 1.5 inches of rain has fallen in the last hour across portions of the advisory area. Additional rainfall of up to one inch is likely through late this afternoon. Expect minor flooding to begin shortly. * Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to Kane... Mount Jewett... Knoxville... Austin... Oswayo... Ulysses... Johnsonburg... Ridgway and St. Marys. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A flood advisory means that although streams and creeks may be elevated or even rise out of their banks... property damage will be minimal. Inconveniences can be expected but the flooding will not be immediately life threatening. Do not let your children play near drainage ditches... storm sewers or streams.
