... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 PM EST this
evening...

* locations... portions of eastern Pennsylvania and central New
Jersey.

* Hazard types... a period of sleet then long duration snow.

* Snow accumulations... 4 to 8 inches.

* Timing... sleet and snow through the pre-dawn hours... then
changing to all snow by dawn... continuing through the early
afternoon... possibly heavy at times.

* Temperatures... in the upper 20s.

* Wind... becoming north and gusting to 20 mph during the day
Thursday.

* Visibility... may lower briefly to one half mile during this
morning into the midday.

* Impacts... widespread and substantial impacts on travel are
expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This Winter Storm Warning means that significant amounts of snow
are expected. The snow will make travel very hazardous or
impossible.

Statement as of 7:54 AM EST on March 05, 2015

... A developing band of heavy snow across the area...

As of 750 am, National Weather Service Doppler radar and surface
observations indicated a developing band of heavier snow. This was
located from Chester County northeastward across much of
Montgomery and Bucks counties, then toward Mercer and Middlesex
counties.

The snowfall rates are expected to increase to about an inch per
hour within this band of heavier snow, which will reduce the
visibilities to one half mile or less. The combination of
increasing snowfall rates and temperatures falling below freezing
will result in deteriorating Road conditions.

If you must travel, slow down and leave plenty of extra time to
reach your destination. Use extra caution especially on bridges
and other elevated surfaces as they tend to freeze up first.
