cancelled.
* At 11:00 am Wednesday the stage was 22.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 28.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tonight and continue to rise
to near 28.8 feet by tomorrow morning.The river will fall below
flood stage by tomorrow early afternoon.
* Impact... at 29.0 feet... navigation suspended, lock out of service.

* Forecast... rise above flood stage by this evening and continue to
rise to near 12.1 feet by this evening.The river will fall below
flood stage by this evening.
* Impact... at 12.0 feet... flooding begins in the vicinity of yough

Fayette County in southwest Pennsylvania...

* until 630 PM EST

* emergency managers reported State Route 381 closed between Canaan
Church Road to Wharton Furnace Road... Route 4004 closed between New
Salem Road to shimko hallow Road... Route 4034 at the intersection of
Laureldale Road... and several roads closed in Uniontown city... all
due to flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams... and ponding of water on country roads and
farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.

Belmont... Monroe and Noble. In southwest Pennsylvania...
Fayette... Fayette ridges... Greene... Washington... Westmoreland
and Westmoreland ridges. In West Virginia... Brooke... Hancock...
   Marion... Marshall... Monongalia... Ohio... Preston... Tucker and
Wetzel.

* Until 7 PM EST this evening

* an additional one quarter inch of rain is possible into early
evening before precipitation changes to snow.

* This rainfall combined with snow melt will cause flooding of
poor drainage areas and small streams... especially those
dammed by ice.
