... Snow showers and cold temperatures expected for black Friday...
The passage of a strong cold front on Thanksgiving night will usher in a period of colder weather for the close of this week. Snow showers are forecast to develop in the wake of the front with light accumulation possible by daybreak on Friday. As temperatures rise above freezing on Friday... snow is expected to melt over most areas.
However... ridge counties and those in vicinity of Interstate 80 may experience a couple inches of accumulation... with best potential for higher snow amounts over the highest elevations.
Shoppers and motorists should plan for colder weather... gusty wind... and possible inhibited travel conditions for Friday. Individuals who plan to travel the Interstate highways across the ridges should monitor snow accumulation forecasts for Friday and look for statements and advisories that are issued by the National Weather Service.
