... Lake effect snow warning remains in effect until 10 PM EST
Saturday...
... Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect from 10 PM this evening
to 10 am EST Sunday...

* accumulations... while there will be a lot of variability in
snowfall amounts... 6 to 8 inches of snow is expected tonight
where the stronger bands set up. An additional 3 to 6 inches is
possible on Saturday. A few locations could see a total of 15
inches or more of snow by Saturday evening.

* Timing... a burst of snow will accompany the passage of a cold
front this Evening. Lake effect snow bands will develop behind
the front and be heavy at times tonight. The snow will continue
into Saturday before gradually diminishing Saturday night.

* Wind chill... wind chills will dip below minus 10 this evening
and could get as low as minus 20 at times late tonight.
Dangerous wind chills will remain in the area through Sunday
morning.

* Impacts... snow covered roads and reduced visibility during
heavier snow showers and squalls. Dangerous wind chills can
result in frostbite or hypothermia in just a few minutes.
Frigid temperatures could freeze water pipes.

* Winds... northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Temperatures... lows tonight from 5 above to 5 below with highs
Saturday from 10 to 15 degrees. Lows Saturday night could be
as cold as minus 10 at traditional cold spots.

Precautionary/preparedness actions... a Wind Chill Advisory is
issued when strong wind will combine with cold temperatures to
create dangerously cold conditions for exposed skin. The wind
will make it feel like it is 10 degrees below zero or colder for
a period of several hours. If you will be outdoors use common
sense and dress warmly... making sure that all exposed skin is

... A band of heavy snow will affect lake... Trumbull... Summit...
Ashtabula... Geauga... Portage... Crawford and Erie counties...

At 619 PM EST... a band of heavy snow was along a line extending from
Erie County Pennsylvania to the Cleveland Metro area... and is moving
southeast.

Locations impacted include...
Akron... Erie... Warren... Painesville... Ashtabula... Willowick...
Meadville... Conneaut... Ravenna... Chardon... Jefferson... Fairport
Harbor... Geneva-On-The-Lake... Cuyahoga Falls... Mentor... Kent...
Barberton... green... Solon and Willoughby.

Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a quarter of a mile in
this area of heavy snow. Snowfall rates with this band will be in
the 1 to 2 inch per hour range and could quickly drop an inch or
more of snow over the area.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra
time when traveling.
