... Summary... the National Weather Service in State College PA has confirmed a tornado near White Deer furnace in Union County Pennsylvania on July 11 2009.
An efo tornado touched down around 540 PM EDT on the north side of Interstate 80... and moved southeast for approximately 1 mile. The tornado crossed Interstate 80 before lifting near White Deer furnace around 542 PM EDT. Damage was minimal with about 10 trees and branches blown down or uprooted. Eye witnesses... including a Pennsylvania State Police officer... reported broad rotation within the storm and a funnel reaching the ground.
