Statement as of 11:25 AM EST on March 03, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 1 PM this
afternoon to 7 am EST Wednesday...

* locations... from the eastern twin tiers southward... including
the Binghamton and Scranton Wilkes-Barre Metro areas... and the
Poconos to southern Catskills.

* Hazards... snow... freezing rain... and sleet.

* Accumulations... snow will develop around 1 PM with a quick 1 to
2 inches. Sleet and freezing rain will accumulate up to a
quarter inch late this afternoon into this evening.

* Timing... snow developing around 1 PM... changing to sleet and
freezing rain by around 5 PM. Sleet and freezing rain will taper
to light freezing rain or drizzle by late this evening.

* Temperatures... rising from the 20s late today... to the low 30s
by Wednesday morning.

* Winds... south 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Impacts... untreated roads will become hazardous beginning mid
to late afternoon. Minor tree damage and isolated power
outages may occur tonight due to the combination of ice and
gusty winds.
