the Monongahela river near Charleroi.
* Until late Thursday night... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 1:00 PM Wednesday the stage was 23.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 28.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by late this afternoon and
continue to rise to near 31.7 feet by after midnight tonight.The
river will fall below flood stage by tomorrow evening.
* Impact... at 31.6 feet... lock walls overtopped.

* Flood Warning for...
Washington County in southwest Pennsylvania...

* until 500 PM EST

* flooding was reported State Route 221 Plumsock Road due to an ice
jam. Water has flooded the roadway and is impassable.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
streams... roads and farmland along the banks of creeks.

* From this evening to Thursday evening... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 11:15 am Wednesday the stage was 16.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by this evening and continue to
rise to near 20.8 feet by tomorrow morning.The river will fall
below flood stage by tomorrow afternoon.
* Impact... at 20.0 feet... small communities around lock 3 area begin
minor flooding.
