Fire Weather Warning
Statement as of 6:50 AM EDT on April 24, 2014

...Red flag warning remains in effect from 11 am this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening for most of eastern central Pennsylvania...

* affected area...portions of the lower and middle Susquehanna valley.

* Winds...northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Timing...late this morning through early this evening.

* Relative humidity...as low as 20 percent.

* Temperatures...in the upper 50s to low 60s.

* Lightning...none.

* Impacts...the potential exists for rapid development and spread of wildfires...or for prescribed Burns to get out of control. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that dangerous fire weather conditions are expected due to the combination of gusty winds...low relative humidity...and dry fuels. Any fires that develop may quickly get out of control and become difficult to contain.
