... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 7 am Sunday to 7 am EST
Monday...

The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 7 am Sunday to 7
am EST Monday.

* Locations... portions of the western Mohawk Valley and
Susquehanna regions in New York... the northern tier counties of
Pennsylvania... and the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Metro area.

* Accumulations... totals of 3 to 5 inches by early Monday... with amounts
closer to 5 inches over the higher terrain... then closer to 3
inches in the Metro valleys near Binghamton... Scranton... and
Wilkes-Barre.

* Timing... occasional light snow will spread into the region early
Sunday morning... generally between 8 and 10 am. The steadiest and
heaviest snowfall is expected from late Sunday afternoon through
the evening hours. Snow should taper off after midnight.

* Temperatures... ranging from the upper teens to mid 20s.

* Winds... south 5 to 10 mph... with gusts up to 20 mph.

* Impacts... snow covered slippery roads and walkways.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

This breaks the old record of -3 set in 1907.
