... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 1 PM Tuesday to 4 am
EST Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for mixed snow and sleet mixing with freezing
rain... which is in effect from 1 PM Tuesday to 4 am EST

* Locations... northwest and west central mountains... Laurel

* hazard types... snow and sleet changing to freezing rain.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of up to 1 inch... followed by
up to a tenth of an inch of ice.

* Timing... snow will begin mid to late Tuesday morning... mixed
with sleet over the Laurel Highlands. Precipitation will change
to freezing rain in the early afternoon and continue through
late Tuesday night.

* Impacts... hazardous travel conditions Tuesday afternoon through
early Wednesday morning.

* Winds... south wind increasing to 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30
mph on the ridgetops.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Hazardous winter weather conditions are expected or occurring.
