... First measurable snowfall in the Treasure valley expected Friday evening into the overnight hours...
A winter storm moving in from the northwest will spread snowfall across southeast Oregon Friday afternoon... and across southwest Idaho Friday evening and overnight. The system is expected to be relatively dry... producing only 2 to 5 inches of snow in the mountains... and around 1 inch in the valleys.
However... it is important to note that this will be the first measurable snow on the roadways of the heavily-populated Treasure valley. An inch of snow is enough to cause travel difficulties if traffic volume and Road conditions are conducive. Travelers should allow for extra time as the roads may become slick.
