... Chilly weather this weekend with a very light dusting of snow
possible Sunday...

A cold weather pattern is setting up for this weekend and early
next week. The first cold front is expected to move down from British
Columbia and across Washington and Oregon Friday night. This
system will not contain much moisture but a few snow flurries are
possible in the northern valleys with a slight chance of
measurable snow in the Cascades.

A second system will move down from the north Saturday night and
Sunday. Much colder air will accompany this system as it pushes an
Arctic front south across Washington and into Oregon. Scattered
snow showers in the Cascades and low elevation snow flurries are
possible with this system but the chance of any snow accumulations
at low elevations is slight. Very cold temperatures falling into
the teens and twenties combined with strengthening northeasterly
winds are the bigger concern with this system.

The first chance for more substantial moisture to impact our area
around the middle of next week. Should the cold air remain in
place as the moisture arrives... precipitation could begin as snow
or a wintery mix. At this time details are still very uncertain.
