Statement as of 11:12 PM PST on November 16, 2009
... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 4 am PST Tuesday for the Willapa Hills and the north and central Oregon Coast Range... A High Wind Warning remains in effect until 4 am PST Tuesday. South winds will increase tonight to 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 65 or 70 mph over the Willapa Hills and north Oregon Coast Range. The strongest winds will be over the higher exposed terrain and along the western slopes. The winds will decrease Tuesday morning after the passage of a strong Pacific cold front and once a strong low off the Washington coast moves up into British Columbia. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
