* Temperature: highs of 100 to 110 degrees today with
temperatures only cooling a few degrees on Saturday.

* Locations include: Grants Pass... Cave Junction... Medford...
Ashland.

* Impacts: there is an elevated risk of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke during this time period. Those who are elderly...
sick... or Young are more susceptible to heat related
illnesses.

* thunderstorms: thunderstorms are expected to be confined to the
Cascades and Siskiyous today. However... isolated to scattered
dry thunderstorms are possible from late Saturday afternoon
through Saturday evening. Thunderstorms are more likely to be
scattered in the mountains with isolated storms in the valleys.

* Impacts: dry thunderstorms with gusty and erratic outflow winds
will create erratic fire behavior and new fire starts.

* Affected area:
in southwest or... fire weather zones 615... 619 and 620.

* Counties affected: Curry... Josephine... Jackson.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Abundant lightning on existing very dry fuels could cause numerous
new fire ignitions. Gusty and erratic outflow winds could also
