Cascades in Lane County

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 10 PM this evening to
3 PM PST Thursday for the South Washington... north and central
Oregon Cascades...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 10 PM this
evening to 3 PM PST Thursday.

Snow showers will become widespread overnight in the South
Washington and north and central Oregon Cascades... and continue into
Thursday morning before tapering off Thursday afternoon. The snow
level will lower to around 2500 feet... well below pass levels. Snow
accumulation will range from 5 to 9 inches by Thursday afternoon.

A similar weather system is expected to impact the area late
Thursday night and Friday. This next system has the potential to
bring greater snow amounts.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
