a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 11 PM CDT for all but the extreme eastern Texas and Oklahoma panhandles... scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to move southeast at 25 mph through early this evening across western sections of the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles. These showers and thunderstorms will affect locations generally along and west of an Elkhart Kansas to Hereford line through 7 PM CDT. Kenton...Black Mesa State Park... Boise City...Dalhart...Romero...Wheeless...felt...Texline and Ware are just some of the communities which will be affected by the showers and storms. Strong gusty winds...possible hail...and deadly cloud to ground lightning can be expected from the storms. Also...heavy rainfall from the stronger storms may result in localized flooding. Rainfall amounts will average between one tenth and one quarter of an inch...however amounts up to an inch to two inches will be possible from the stronger storms. Other showers and thunderstorms may develop elsewhere across the panhandles...as a very moist and unstable airmass remains in place.
