The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a heat advisory... which is in effect until 9 PM CDT Sunday. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. Hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of water... stay in an air-conditioned room... stay out of the sun... and check up on relatives and neighbors.

	Fire Weather Warning
Statement as of 12:03 PM CDT on July 10, 2009 ... Red flag warning in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening... The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a red flag warning... which is in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening. Very hot temperatures near 110 degrees... combined with southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph... and relative humidity values below 20 percent will allow for an increased wildfire potential this afternoon. These conditions will persist through early this evening before a gradual improvement is expected. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will create explosive fire growth potential.
