The precipitation was moving east around 20 mph. A few of these showers may move across far northern Oklahoma near Medford and Newkirk. Otherwise very hot conditions can be expected this afternoon under mostly sunny skies. A few locations across northern Oklahoma will exceed 110 degrees as dry southwest winds blow at 15 to 25 mph. A few gusts near 40 mph will also be possible.

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a red flag warning... which is in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening.
Very hot temperatures near 110 degrees... combined with southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph... and relative humidity values below 20 percent will allow for an increased wildfire potential this afternoon. These conditions will persist through early this evening before a gradual improvement is expected.
