regional weather discussion... Very hot weather continued...with temperatures already in the middle and upper 90s at noon. Buffalo Oklahoma was the warm spot... reporting 102 degrees. Upper level high pressure was centered over the Texas Panhandle...while an upper level trough...and cooler weather was in place over the Central Plains and Midwest states. The boundary between these two weather regimes was marked by a cold front running from Joplin Missouri to near Winfield Kansas. The front had lifted out of northwest Oklahoma...but will remain close enough to north central Oklahoma...to maintain light winds and a few high clouds this afternoon. West to southwest winds will average 10 to 15 mph in most areas. Western Oklahoma will see winds occasionally increase to between 15 and 20 mph...with higher gusts. High temperatures will be very similar to those on Saturday...ranging from 99 degrees in southeast Oklahoma...to 105 degrees near Vernon...Lawton...and Oklahoma City...and up to near 110 degrees in the northwest Oklahoma.
