An excessive heat warning remains in effect from 12 PM Saturday
to 7 PM CDT Monday for the following counties...
In Arkansas...
Crawford... Franklin... Sebastian.
In Oklahoma...
Pushmataha... Choctaw... Osage... Washington... Nowata... Craig...

Warmer and more dangerous temperature/humidity conditions are
forecast for over the weekend and into early next week.
A ridge of high pressure aloft will provide mostly sunny conditions
each day which will push heat index values each afternoon into
the 105 to 110 range over most of eastern Oklahoma and west
central Arkansas over the weekend and into early next week.
Overnight lows are only expected to cool to the middle and
upper 70s over the region and will offer limited relief at
night.
The excessive heat warning or a heat advisory
may be needed beyond Monday next week.
An excessive heat warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot
temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous
situation in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of
fluids... stay in an air-conditioned room... stay out of the sun...
and check up on relatives and neighbors.
