At 6:56 am... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated extensive coverage of showers and thunderstorms across much of northeast Oklahoma and over extreme northwest Arkansas. Most of the showers and storms were located to the north of I 40 and were moving south southwest at 35 mph. Through 8:30 am...showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue to move toward the south. Locations north of I 40 are most likely to be affected. Brief heavy rainfall and cloud to ground lightning will accompany the storms. Additional rainfall amounts of up to half an inch could occur with the stronger storms occurring along and west of Highway 75 in northeast Oklahoma.
