... Forecast flooding increased from moderate to major severity...

the Flood Warning continues for
the Canadian river near Union City.

* From early this morning to Tuesday evening... or until the warning
is cancelled.

* At 12:00 PM Friday the stage was 2.5 feet.

* Major flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.

* Forecast... the Canadian river will rise above flood stage late
by mid Sunday morning and crest near 10.6 feet early Monday
afternoon. The Canadian river will fall below flood stage early
Tuesday afternoon.

* Impact... at 11.0 feet... valley-wide flooding with depths up to 4
feet occurs along the river on the Canadian-Grady County border
from near U.S. Highway 81 between Union City and Minco...
downstream to near Tuttle. Flooding may extend beyond Newcastle to
the Ten-Mile flats suburban area. Sandpits... agricultural lands...
and low-lying local roads are the areas most affected along the
Canadian river.

the Flood Warning continues for
the Canadian river at Purcell.

* Until late Wednesday night... or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 3:30 am Sunday the stage was 12.9 feet.

* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

* Forecast... the Canadian river will continue rising to near 13.9
feet early Sunday afternoon. The Canadian river will fall below
flood stage late Wednesday evening.

* Impact... at 14.0 feet... flood depths up to 2 feet occur along and
near the river on the Cleveland-McClain County border from near
Norman... and Noble to the vicinity south of of Purcell and
Lexington.
