Nowcast | as of 6:45 PM CST on March 4, 2015

At 6:45 PM...National Weather Service Doppler radars indicated bands of light to occasional moderate snow falling over the majority of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. Some rain and isolated thunderstorms were occurring over extreme southeast Oklahoma. A narrow band of light freezing rain and sleet was also indicated across parts of southeast Oklahoma. All of this activity was moving off to the northeast at around 40 mph. Through 8:30 PM...periods of light to occasional moderate snow will remain possible for eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. As the cold air continues to pusher south...a transition from rain over far southeast Oklahoma is expected...with a changeover to a mix of freezing rain and sleet. There will also remain a slight chance for thunderstorms over extreme southeast Oklahoma. Many area roadways continue to be reported as slick and hazardous... especially across east-central and southeast Oklahoma...as well as west central Arkansas.
