At 2:49 PM...Doppler radars detected scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms across parts of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. This activity was occurring within a very warm and moist tropical environment in place across the region. General movement was toward the northeast at around 30 mph. Through 4:45 PM...scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will remain possible for all of the area...however the favored locations are south of Interstate 44. For most locations affected...a period of light to moderate rainfall will be common...resulting in average rainfall of around one tent to one quarter of an inch. Any thunderstorms that develop will be capable of producing heavy downpours and a quick half to one inch of rainfall. Any of these showers or storms may also produce gusty winds of 30 to 40 mph.
