... Winter Storm Watch in effect from late tonight through Monday
morning...
The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a Winter Storm
Watch... which is in effect from late tonight through Monday morning
across the Oklahoma and northern Texas panhandles.
A combination of much colder air along with an upper level storm
system tracking east out of The Four Corners region and southern
rockies will bring chances for snow across the Oklahoma Panhandle and
the northern Texas Panhandle late tonight through Monday morning. The
heaviest snow accumulations are expected mainly Sunday afternoon
through Monday morning when as much as six inches will be possible. In
addition... northerly winds of 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts may
cause areas of blowing snow which will result in reduced visibilities.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
