A cold front has started to push into the Oklahoma Panhandle this afternoon will continue to move from the northwest to the southeast through this evening. There will be enough moisture near and behind this cold front to bring low clouds...fog...and a mix of rain and snow to many parts of the panhandles through tonight. Through 4 PM...low cloudiness...gusty north winds...and light showers will spread into western Oklahoma and northwest Texas panhandles. Wind chills will quickly become noticeable as winds stregthen and temperatures drop. The best chance of snow accumulations this evening will be north of a line from near Dalhart to Beaver with up to 4 inches in the extreme western Oklahoma Panhandle. A trace or less is expected for the southern Texas Panhandle.

Statement as of 12:15 PM CST on November 15, 2009 ... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 am CST Monday... A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 am CST Monday for the Oklahoma Panhandle. A combination of much colder air along with an upper level storm system tracking east out of The Four Corners region east into southern Kansas today through Monday will bring chances for snow across the Oklahoma Panhandle mainly later today through tonight. Snowfall accumulations through Monday morning are expected to range from one to two inches across the central and eastern Oklahoma Panhandle with two to four inches across the western Oklahoma Panhandle. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving. Roads... bridges... and overpasses in the advisory area may become slick and hazardous. Accumulation of snow on roadways... bridges and overpasses may make travel treacherous. Exercise caution if travel is necessary.
