Special Statement
Statement as of 3:48 PM CST on March 02, 2015

... Widespread accumulating snow... sleet... and freezing rain
possible late Tuesday through Wednesday...

Another strong cold front will surge through Oklahoma and North
Texas from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday. As this
occurs... very cold air will move into the region. A series of
upper storm systems will move across the Southern Plains Tuesday
night through Wednesday afternoon... bringing widespread wintry
precipitation to much of Oklahoma and North Texas. Rain will
transition to a wintry mix of sleet... freezing rain... and
eventually snow... from north to south... as the cold airmass
deepens late Tuesday night through Wednesday. Accumulations of
snow... sleet... and freezing rain will be possible over much of the
region... leading to hazardous driving conditions overnight Tuesday
night and through the day on Wednesday. As confidence
increases... winter weather advisories and/or winter storm watches
or warnings may be issued. Monitor the forecast closely as details
regarding this winter weather event will likely change. Follow NWS
Norman on twitter and facebook... and monitor our you tube channel
for video briefings.
