Statement as of 4:46 AM CDT on July 11, 2009 ... Heat advisory now in effect until 9 PM CDT Monday... The heat advisory is now in effect until 9 PM CDT Monday. A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. Hot temperatures and high humidities will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of water... stay in an air-conditioned room... stay out of the sun... and check up on relatives and neighbors. You should also make sure that pets and livestock have access to fresh water.

	Fire Weather Watch
Statement as of 4:53 AM CDT on July 11, 2009 ... Fire Weather Watch in effect from 10 am CDT this morning through this evening... The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Fire Weather Watch... which is in effect from 10 am CDT this morning through this evening. Temperatures are forecast to rise above 100 by late morning... topping out in the 105 to 110 range. These temperatures along with relative humidities below 20 percent... dry vegetation and the possibility of gusty southwest winds... will have the potential to create favorable conditions for the start and spread of wildfires. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
