Statement as of 4:13 AM CDT on July 26, 2008
... Heat advisory remains in effect until 10 PM CDT Sunday...
Through Sunday... high temperatures in the upper 90s to 105 are
expected. Most temperatures will only fall into the middle and
upper 70s at night. The duration of the current heat wave will
increase the risk for heat related illness. If the weather pattern
does not change... the heat advisory will likely be extended in time.
Drink plenty of fluids... stay in air conditioned rooms... stay out
of the sun during the afternoon... and check on relatives and
neighbors. Also... be sure pets have plenty of fresh water and a
source of shade.
